Sample of Research Gap
Bank and Financial institutions are the mediators of
economic activities of overall economy. Bank and finance companies of Nepal are
currently facing the low capital fund problem in comparison to other banks of
international market, which makes them too much depend on market.This imposes
higher market risk, to regulate BFIs NRB compel to maintain minimum capital
adequacy ratio through unified directives as per the international standard of
BASEL committee.
Most of researchers in this sector in Nepal are analyzing
comparative analysis for capital adequacy ratio of 2 banks only. But there is
no analysis about compliance of NRB provision related to capital adequacy ratio
by banks and financial institutions and its effects on financial performance.
None compliance of minimum capital adequacy related provision of NRB directives
imposed higher market risk on BFIs portfolio. The main concern of this study is
analyzing capital adequacy ratio of sampled commercial bank in as per the
latest amendment by NRB. It also includesimpact of CAR, necessity of capital
increment and financial performance of sampled banks.
